Green Network Roma Seven 2010, Australia senza avversari

I neozelandesi al Roma Seven E’ l’Australia la regina del Green Network Roma Seven 2010, i canguri hanno dominato in finale contro i neo-zelandesi dei Modula Roma Seven vincendo 47 – 17. L’Australia guidata dal manager italiano Luca Liussi (ovviamente qui da noi non farebbe comodo la sua professionalità …) e che sta investendo molto sulla disciplina a sette per ben figurare alle Olimpiadi, sin dall’inizio ha premuto sull’acceleratore, poi ha controllato il ritorno in gioco degli All blacks e infine ha dilagato.
Il Plate è andato alla Francia, il Bowl ai Mel’s Exiles e lo Sheld ai Dencers Marauders.

Nel femminile invece vittoria delle New Zealand Aotearoa Red & Blu che in finale hanno battuto la Francia per 19 a 5.

Sufficiente la prova degli Azzurri che con il giovanissimo team maschile sono arrivati alle semifinali del Plate, mentre la femminile ha perso in finale del Plate clasificandosi così al quarto posto.

Grande entusiasmo da parte di un pubblico numeroso accorso nello splendido scenario dello Stadio dei Marmi, unico al mondo. La crescita del Rugby a sette, ormai disciplina olimpica, ha portato il Sindaco Gianni Alemanno a premiare con la coppa dei primi della classe gli Australiani.

Durante la premiazione le New Zealand Aotearoa Red & Blu si sono esibite nella loro danza propiziatrice, una sorta di haka al femminile.

Al termine, fino alle prime luci dell’alba, la grande e consueta festa di chiusura per dare appuntamento alla prossima edizione quella dei 10 anni.
